The research group of Prof. Aland combines methods from numerical mathematics, physics and high-performance computing to simulate complex physical and biological systems.

We aim to answer fundamental questions beyond the reach of experimental observations: from the dynamics of water droplets to the organisation of life at the cellular scale.
