The Rectorate of HTW Dresden includes
- the Rector, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ingo Gestring
With the start of the term of office of the new Rector, Prof. Ingo Gestring, from April 1, 2025 the term of office of the current Vice-Rectors ends. From this point in time, preparations for the election of the Vice-Rectors will begin. Until then, the current incumbent will continue to manage the business.

The Rectorate manages the University and is responsible for the strategic development of the University. It prepares the decisions of the Senate und des University Council. The tasks of the Rectorate are laid down in the Saxon Higher Education Freedom Act (§ 83 SächsHSG) festgelegt. The chairperson of the Rectorate is the Rector.
