Network time server (NTP)

The ZID provides a set of NTP servers for time synchronization, which are accessible from within the local network of the university.

Systems that are members of the Active Directory domain "DOM" usually use the domain controllers as time servers automatically. For all other systems, a pool of NTP servers can be used:

  • ntp-pool.rz.htw-dresden.de

It is not always possible to configure a pool of NTP servers. This is often the case for IoT/embedded or network devices. If the use of the given NTP pool is not possible, please always configure all of the following NTP servers to achieve maximum resilience and accuracy:

  • ntp1.rz.htw-dresden.de
  • ntp2.rz.htw-dresden.de
  • ntp3.rz.htw-dresden.de
  • ntp4.rz.htw-dresden.de
