Professorship

The professorship of economic policy is responsible for teaching the following subjects

  • Microeconomics, macroeconomics,
  • Applied Economics,
  • International Economic Policy, International Economics,
  • European Integration/World Economy,
  • Environmental Economics.

The professorship's courses are offered in the Bachelor's degree programmes International Business, Business Administration and in the Master's degree programmes International Management, SMEs, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering. Particular focal points/special areas in teaching are global economics, foreign trade theory and policy. Internships are supervised in all sectors, organisations. At the professorship, final theses are supervised, which are located in one of the main topics in the area of (international) economics, economic policy.As a university supervisor, I am responsible for the foreign partner universities Antwerp (Belgium).

  • 1994 Research assistant at the Institute for Economic Policy at the University of Cologne
  • 1994 Doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) at the University of Cologne (Professor Juergen B. Donges/Economic Policy) on the topic of stabilisation policy in the transition process
  • 1989 - 1994 Research assistant at the Department of Economic Policy at the University of Cologne, Chair of Prof. Dr. Juergen B. Donges

Interests

The main research/interest areas of the Chair of Economics/Economic Policy are reforms of the European Union, the debt situation in EU member states, current developments in EU countries, approaches to climate protection.
