Risk management

The traditional SME Day at HTW Dresden celebrates its tenth anniversary this year on 11 April 2019.

This time the event is dedicated to the topic

"Risk management - an opportunity for every company".

Learn more about how decision-oriented risk management can benefit your company and also meet regulatory requirements. Learn about risk management instruments that are especially suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises. Experience by means of examples how you can profitably use more in-depth methods. Also learn how to deal with setbacks and what role the risk management system plays in this.

Jörg Bose, born in 1962 in Dresden, has a degree in economics. Until 1990 he worked in foreign trade as an export clerk. After holding various positions in sales, he switched to controlling in 1993 - first as marketing/sales controller, later as investment controller. From 2000, he worked as a team leader in controlling at Dresden Airport. In 2007, he took over the commercial management of the company, and in 2016 he was appointed authorised signatory. Mr Bose has many years of experience in the areas of project management, business development and strategy process. He is an active member of the International Controller Association, AK Sachsen, among others.

Robert Fiedler is an industrial engineer and was a master's student at HTW Dresden until February 2019. The focus of his studies included modules such as production engineering, controlling, product management and energy management. During internships and his master's thesis, he was able to gain experience at well-known companies in the electronics industry and plant engineering. He worked specifically in strategic purchasing and his tasks focused increasingly on the implementation of risk management at the operational level. The central object of investigation was the quantification of procurement risks and the evaluation of a potential business impact.

Prof. Dr. Christoph Mayer studied business administration at the University of Mannheim and earned his doctorate at the university's Department of Business Administration, Risk Theory, Portfolio Management and Insurance Economics. He then worked in group risk management at EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG. Among other things, he introduced the probability-based modelling of relevant financial ratios there as a project manager. In 2013, he accepted a professorship for business administration / investment and financing at the Dresden University of Applied Sciences. He is the author of various specialist books on the subject of business mathematics. Since 2017, he has been a member of the board of the Risk Management Association e. V.

 

Dr. rer. nat. Peter Meier, D.I.C. was first a theoretical natural scientist (Imperial College London, UK; University of Freiburg, DE; ETH Zurich, CH) and then a practical manager in international companies (US - Palo Alto / Silicon Valley; ISR - Haifa; KR - Seoul; DE - Wiesbaden: GmbH Managing Director) around the globe. He is founder and director of the Steinbeis Transfer Centre Risk Management in Langen and Stuttgart (DE). He advises companies on how to deal with the "uncertainty of the future development of values", vulgo "risk management". This includes teaching assignments in Lyon (FR) at the Université Catholique and in Offenburg (DE) at the University of Applied Sciences, both in MBA courses. He is present on Amazon with books critical of ISO. He is a member of the advisory board of larger medium-sized companies.

 

Rebekka Rudisch, born in Jena, studied industrial engineering in her Bachelor's and Master's degree at HTW Dresden. During her studies, she worked as a research assistant on the risk assessment of a municipal construction project. She graduated at the top of her class. In practical cooperation with the regional network operator ENSO NETZ, she wrote her master's thesis on the optimisation of the customer service process in the operation of charging stations for electric vehicles, for which she was awarded the "Dresden Excellence Award 2018 - Science Award of the City of Dresden". Since 2019, Ms Rudisch has been working as a trainee at ENSO NETZ in the area of network management and regulation management.

 

After training as an electronics technician and studying electrical engineering and business administration, Mr Weise worked for over 20 years in various medium-sized companies and in a corporate group. His focus was on international materials management, technical sales and production planning as well as economic process and organisational development. Since 1996 he has been managing director, consultant and auditor of a cross-sector consultancy in Essen, the heart of the Ruhr region. The focus is on the consulting fields of organisational and process management, risk and business continuity management as well as integrated management systems. He is a member of the Risk Management Association e.V. (RMA), head of the RMA working group "integrated risk management", RMA Regional Director Region West.

 

Marco Wolfrum (Dipl.-Wirtschaftsmathematiker) is Vice-Chairman of the Risk Management Association e.V. and, as a partner at FutureValue Group AG, heads the service provision division. He has been active in consulting for more than 20 years. His consulting focus is on risk management, financial modelling, rating and (risk-appropriate) company valuation. Mr Wolfrum is also the author of numerous specialist publications and lectures at various universities.
