The challenge of company succession

For the third time, the Centre for SMEs (ZfM) at the Dresden University of Applied Sciences (HTW) invited SMEs to discuss current challenges of business management in SMEs at an academic conference on Thursday, 18 April 2013, from 1 to 7 pm.

The theme of the event was "The Challenge of Corporate Succession", which included lectures and panel discussions that shed light on the success factors of corporate succession in the context of both family-internal and family-external succession planning. Speakers were, on the one hand, entrepreneurs who have already successfully gone through the process of business succession and, on the other hand, lawyers and tax consultants as well as bank representatives and academics from the HTW Dresden, who discussed the various aspects of successful business succession.

The Dresden Chamber of Industry and Commerce was a partner of the SME Day at the HTW Dresden with the succession network "Folgerichtig".

In addition to the focus on content, the SME Day also offers participating companies the opportunity to talk to future graduates of the universities as potential junior specialists and managers, as well as to get to know the potential of the HTW Dresden, as participants of the SME Day will be entrepreneurs, students and academics.
