Our English Modules B2

We offer various advanced English modules at level B2 and prepare you specifically for your future tasks. In this respect, this offer complements the English modules at levels C1 and C2. The content and scope of the respective courses are based on the current study regulations for the individual courses.

You can find the courses that apply to you in the following menu items.

Three consecutive courses of 2 SWS each (3 credits) in the Infrastructure Management Bachelor's degree:

  • S111: English B2 I in the 1st semester (winter semester)
  • S112: English B2 II in the 2nd semester (summer semester)
  • S113: English B2 III in the 3rd semester (winter semester)

A language module of 2 SWS in the Bachelor's degree in Product Design:

  • S812: English B2 in the 6th semester (summer semester)

Two language modules that build on one another, one with 2 SWS (2 credits), one with 4 SWS (5 credits):

  • S215: English B2 I in the 1st semester (winter semester) 
  • S216: English B2 II in the 2nd semester (summer semester)

Two consecutive courses of 2 SWS (3 credits) each:

  • S623: English B2 I in the 1st semester (winter semester)  
  • S624: English B2 I in the 2nd semester (summer semester)

Two consecutive courses of 3 SWS each (3 credits):

  • S413: English B2 in the 1st semester (winter semester)
  • S414: English B2 in the 2nd semester (summer semester)

Two language modules that build on each other, each of 4 SWS (5 credits) in the Bachelor's degree in Horticulture:

  • S311: English B2 I in the 2nd semester, mandatory (summer semester) 
  • S312: English B2 II in the 3rd semester, elective (winter semester)

A language module of 4 SWS in the Bachelor's degree in environmental monitoring/analysis:

  • S402: English B2 in the 3rd semester (winter semester)

Two consecutive courses of 2 SWS each in the Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering:

  • S542: English B2 in the 1st semester (winter semester) as well as in the 2nd semester (summer semester)

Two consecutive courses of 2 SWS each (2 credits) in the bachelor's degree course in mechanical engineering:

  • S514: English B2 I in the 1st Study semester (winter semester) 
  • S515: English B2 II in the 2nd semester (summer semester)

Two consecutive courses of 2 SWS each (2 credits) in the bachelor's degree course in building system technology:

  • S512: English B2 I in the 1st Study semester (winter semester) 
  • S513: English B2 II in the 2nd semester (summer semester)

Four language modules that build on one another with previous knowledge of 2 SWS each in the Bachelor's degree courses in Business Administration and Industrial Engineering (reaccredited as of winter semester 2024/2025), each in version 4: 

  • S711: Business English B2+ I in the 1st semester (winter semester) 
  • S712: Business English B2+ II in the 2nd semester (summer semester)
  • S713: Business English B2+ III in the 3rd semester (winter semester) 
  • S714: Business English B2+ IV in the 4th semester (summer semester)

Five language modules that build on one another with previous knowledge of 2 SWS each in the Bachelor's degree courses in Business Administration and Industrial Engineering (expiring): 

  • S711: English B2 I in the 1st semester (winter semester) 
  • S712: English B2 II in the 2nd semester (summer semester)
  • S713: English B2 III in the 3rd semester (winter semester) 
  • S714: English B2 IV in the 4th semester (summer semester)
  • S715: English B2 V in the 5th semester (winter semester)

We strongly recommend that you take the placement test as part of the orientation week. You can find details on this on our page on your language options.

Due to the large number of language modules for English B2 that are already in the curriculum, we currently do not offer an independent module in the Studium Integrale. You are, however, welcome to take part in existing modules, provided that there is sufficient capacity. In this case, please contact the language group leader.
