Electron Beam Laboratory
Electron beam systems and research are not common in german universities. The University of Applied Sciences Dresden is operating a complex electron beam system since 2010. Due to its large 1 m^3 work volume, a unique vacuum-cell design as well as its high power of 10 kW it is suitable for multiple applications: welding, heat treatment and non-thermal treatments. By teaming up with researchers from additional institutions in Dresden, e.g. from the Fraunhofer Society, the university is able to offer a wide spectrum of application oriented research and teaching in the field of electron beams technologies.
