After a fundamental modernisation, the "High Voltage Technology" laboratory was handed over on January 18, 2002 for use in teaching and research. A further expansion stage took place in 2005/2006.
Experiments are carried out on the following topics:
- Generation of high test voltages
- Electric gas discharges in homogeneous and inhomogeneous fields with AC / DC
- Pulse voltage test using the up-and-down method (IEC 60060-1)
- Breakdown of solid, liquid and gaseous insulating materials
- Diagnostic procedures in high voltage technology
