Welcome Week for new exchange students - summer semester 2025 (10 March until 16 March 2025)

We wish to make the start of your studies with us as smooth as possible. Our Welcome Week is especially designed to help new incoming exchange students to settle in and start their studies at HTW Dresden. The week is organized in cooperation with the student association faranto e.V.

The detailed program for the next Welcome Week in summer semester 2025 can be found further below on this website and will be updated continuously.

Note! Additionally to this general welcome program you will have a meeting with your HTW academic coordinator during the Welcome Week. Your HTW academic coordinator will inform you by e-mail about the meeting (when, where and how you will meet with her/him). During this meeting you will talk about your course choice (Learning Agreement) and study schedule.

Exchange students are strongly advised to take part in the Welcome Week. The Welcome Week includes, among other things:

  • an overview of HTW Dresden (in short: HTWD)
  • campus tour
  • registration at the International Office
  • information session on the organisation of your studies and the selection of your courses
  • support in making appointments with your HTW acadamic coordinator
  • introduction to the university library
  • introduction to German and English language courses
  • opening a bank account (if necessary)
